Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

New to Book of Kills?

New to Book of Kills? Wondering what albums to check out? Yeah...there are a lot of them. I'll bet many of you are already shopping for all your Christmas music-streaming gifts and you simply cannot decide which BOK albums to lay around the digital Christmas tree.

These are the top ten most popular Book of Kills/Fear + Whiskey albums (according to the latest all-time streaming and download figures from CDBaby):  (1) Songs for a Played Out Generation (2) Wasp 51! (3) The Haunted Life (4) In My Room: The Best of Book of Kills, Volume 1 (5) Different (6) Saint Judas (7) Wee Jim's Blackeye (8) All About You (9) Detritus (10) The Fear + Whiskey Anthology. Keep in mind, of course, that some of these albums have only been available for streaming/downloading a short while (The Fear + Whiskey Anthology, for instance), while others have been available for several years (Songs for a Played Out Generation, for instance) and so that skews the overall figures.

I only had one day this week to spend working on music for any protracted length of time (that would be today) and I spent a big part of what time I did have working on re-mixes of a couple of songs from the BOK Singles of the Month Series, "Wee Drowned Sisters & Whimsy Frowns" and Bob Dylan's "Love Minus Zero/No Limits". I am pretty sure that the next album that I'll upload is going to be a compilation of the still "unreleased" Single of the Month material as well as various previously unreleased outtakes and live performances. I'll most likely call it BIG BUSINESS MONKEY, VOLUME 6.

On this day in 1995, The Beatles released ANTHOLOGY 1.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m actually on the wrong planet. It’s great when I’m in my garden, but the minute I go out the gate I think, ‘What the hell am I doing here?” -- George Harrison
