Month Overdue

I'm a month "overdue" on uploading a new BOK album. Don't really know what's left that I'd care to upload other than perhaps a live album of 2008-09 BOK? I guess I need to look through what's already up and what's left, eh?

This is rather a semi-important day in rock and roll history. Let me count the ways: Buddy Holly and the Crickets (Would The Beatles exist without Buddy Holly? It's a fair question!) released their first, hugely impactful, single, "That'll Be The Day", on this day in 1957. There's a direct line that runs from that song through...

...Bob Dylan's THE FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN (which was also released on this day, in 1963 and which had a profound influence on modern rock singers and songwriters, even if you've never heard the album yourself)...on up to the modern rock era of the late '60s to the early '90s...

... including the Sex Pistols's "God Save The Queen" (which I really like) which was released on this day in 1977...

...and Elvis Costello (who once was one of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters), who performed under his stage name for the first time ever, also on this day, also in 1977...

...and on and on...
