Iain McMillan

On this day in 1969, photographer Iain McMillan, who died in 2006, took six shots of the four Beatles on the crossing outside of Abbey Road studios. He was given ten minutes to get a usable photograph. I would guess the ABBEY ROAD cover art is the most imitated of all, though perhaps SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND is the most iconic album cover of all time(?) I've never been very good at devising cover art for my own albums. The best ones were the unique collages I did for two or three albums back in the 2000s and early 2010s, I guess.
