Feels Like the First Time

We'll (finally) be getting back together this evening for a practice. First one since mid-August! I think I've forgotten all of our songs. Anyhow, we will focus mainly on learning a couple of new songs tonight. I'll talk with George and Garfield about scheduling another show, too. I'd be happy to sneak in at least one more before the new year.

Two years ago on this day, I played a "surprise" 3 song set of Dylan songs with former original BOK line-up members Dusty Bugg and Brian Temples, as well as Dusty's dad, Gary at Bugg's Barn in little McGaheysville, Virginia. We were celebrating Amy Bugg (former singer/bassist for Fear + Whiskey) and Brian's wedding. That means today is Amy and Brian's two year anniversary! Congrats, guys!

On this day in 1969, The Beatles released their final album (though the earlier recording LET IT BE would not drop until 1970), ABBEY ROAD. I've always thought ABBEY ROAD was a bit overrated. I love first side opener "Come Together" and first side closer "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and the entire second half of the album, but I don't have much love for "Oh Darling" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" sandwiched in between the two Lennon tracks on side one.
