The Karl Rove
Jim Shelley

Recorded on the semi-legendary little black cassette boombox, this is from a Karl Rove show at the Atomic Burrito in Charlottesville, Virginia. Fun show. In fact, the 4/20/2006 performance epitomized, to me at least, everything that was great about that relatively short-lived group, comprised of Johnny St. Ours on guitar/vocal, Billy Hunt on drums, Aaron Farrington on bass/vocal and me on guitar/vocal. We were a band for and of the times. I just wish we could've played once at the White House. I know W and his vice president would've loved us. We could've changed the conscience of a nation. Who knows how much misery we could've saved the world and perhaps most of the known universe?
