"Why I Stopped Pirating Music" (By Not Me...Someone Else)
Because...well, because he grew a conscience.
The Karl Rove (Aaron Farrington, Billy Hunt, Johnny St. Ours and Little Jimmy Shelley) will practice for the first time in ten years Wednesday, March 23, in Charlottesville. Initially we'll focus mostly, I'm guessing, on stuff we used to play and add a new song or two, then take it from there after we see how things go.
For all of y'all who like the free music on the audio page, I'll be adding some Karl Rove material next week so you can either get your first taste of the band or refresh your memories and get psyched for the first show tentatively scheduled for July 4 in Charlottesville. More about that later.
Because I'll probably forget tomorrow, I'd like to note that March 13 (tomorrow if you're reading this today) marks the sixth year anniversary of the final live appearance of George Nipe III, Mike Hicks, and me. It was a glorious, very sloppy show. My wife and I ate dinner with George and his dad and mom last evening and had a wonderful time and while we talked, George III and I reminisced about our time together with Mike and David Tekippe in BOK. It would be great to be able to play a few more shows with those guys one day, but I don't think Mike is going to be moving back to Harrisonburg, Virginia, U.S.A. from Spain any time soon.
Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight!
