The Portable Archive
Several people have asked me what I intend to do with all the BOK/Karl Rove/Fear+Whiskey material I accumulate. Again, I'm not exactly certain what form it will take, but I imagine the most logical thing to do would be to construct some sort of digital archive of music, video and photographs that will fit onto a 32gb or (more likely) a 64gb USB flash drive.
I'm not doing this with the intention of selling it! While I can't afford (I'm retired) to simply give away dozens of 64gb flash drives, I will create something that's as cheaply as possible so that anyone who wants a portable BOK archive can get one for a very low cost. Of course, folks who are helping me out by digging up photos and videos and tapes and what have you will receive a free archive. (I might as well refer to it as an "archive" since that's as simple a term as I can think of to describe it.) I will try to give credit to everyone I can so it's important that if you send me something that someone else took or recorded, that you let me know their name!
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be most lacking in material related to the 1997-98 era Book of Kills with Brian and Dave Buracker and Brock Beatty. I want to accumulate more Karl Rove material, though that shouldn't be as problematic as the aforementioned '97-'98 band.
I'm really hoping to obtain some video and audio that I don't have (from any era), so that's the sort of thing that's highest on my list of wants. I know that there are, for instance, several videos and cassette recordings from the '90s and early 2000s that folks have but there's no way for me to get it unless others can locate them and let me know how I can obtain them.
I'm also quite aware that this means more to me than it does to others, so I appreciate the fact that people are taking the time and making the effort to locate what they have. Thanks.
