The Good Thing About Not Making Music...

The good thing about not recording much new music for the last five years is that all those old chords and words you've used a thousand times already sort of seem fresh again. And I guess you've also got some ideas built up in the back of your mind that you probably didn't even know were there and that you actually haven't used before that suddenly start falling out of your head, so that's pretty cool. It's funny how quickly I got into the making music routine after all this time, unfortunately to the detriment of things like caring about cleaning or washing or fixing food or selling some more books online, or whatever mundane chores you know you ought to take care of, and then it's almost that time of day when you have to start acting like an adult again and so you rush around the house trying to take care of all the stuff you didn't do earlier in forty-five minutes or less. I definitely see the allure of going on the road and playing music night after night.
