Sunday Practice, The Next Song, Etc...

It's already freaking April? Thank goodness. This winter was one of the all-time suckiest in history. I'm still not so sure it's gone. I'm waiting for a surprise April snowstorm that will bring massive tree/powerline destruction to the Shenandoah Valley.

We had a productive practice Sunday. It was pretty ragged because we hadn't played together in a quarter of a year. But we got Jane's "Horse" off to a good start, as well as the old BOK nugget, "Jesus Was An Alien" (which has only been played in front of a live audience once, by the way). I am hoping that we will add another new Jane song, a new song of mine (probably "You Don't Owe Me Anything") and another song for George to sing (most likely "Little Metal Toys"). Jane has school stuff this coming weekend and I'll be out of town Friday and Saturday anyway, so there'll be no practice this week. Maybe the next weekend.

I haven't worked on the new album since last week. Just other stuff going on and, as much as I wanted to, I couldn't devote any time to working on the eleventh song. I'm starting to feel my focus waver a bit. I guess if I don't dive into making an album wholeheartedly it's going to have repercussions sooner or later. I'm just hoping now that I can get twelve songs recorded. Anything beyond that would be gravy on the steak.
