Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

Single #4?

This morning, I discovered on an old USB drive some partial alternate takes of "Killing Time Again", "Placebo", "Stanley the Steamer" (2 takes!), "So Tired", and "Blue Man" from the 2009 recording sessions for TOWARDS THE ESCAPE. Unfortunately (and inexplicably), the recordings are all MP3s, and largely only have Mike Hicks' drums and George Nipe III's bass on them, but it still might be quite interesting to see what I could do with them. They just might form an extremely cool entry in the BOK Singles Club series (specifically single #4?).

"All the good music has already been written by people with wigs and stuff."

"Without deviation, progress is not possible."

"Most people wouldn't know music if it came up and bit them on the ass."

"You can't always write a chord ugly enough to say what you want to say, so sometimes you have to rely on a giraffe filled with whipped cream."

"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it."
