Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

Saluted and Defied

I finished mastering and sequencing the latest Jim Shelley & Book of Kills album today. It's a fifteen track compilation of Singles of the Month #'s 10, 11 and 12. Seven of the tracks were remixed and all fifteen were remastered. I think it's the best of the three compilations. I uploaded everything to CDBaby. They'll look it all over and then give it the okay if it's all in order. Then I give them the okay and the album is on its way to Apple Music, Spotify, and all the usual suspects. I think it'll probably be available on at least Apple Music and Spotify by the weekend. I think it's one of the best albums ever as far as my bass playing and singing. I think I've said this before but it's more true this time: If you liked IF I SHOULD FALL, you'll like this one a lot. I think it's one of those albums that takes a while to grow on you. Honest!

Music streaming is really changing. Here's a very interesting article from this past December outlining the ways record labels and artists are evolving. You might be surprised to read that Artificial Intelligence music is making great headway. Yes...I said AI music. Hey kids, enjoy the ride; we humans don't have long for this world.

On this day in 1994, Nirvana played their last ever show in front of 3000 fans at The Terminal Einz in Munich, Germany. Part of the concert featured an impromptu acoustic performance by the band since the power went off for a time.

"I’m a high school drop-out. Nobody taught me how to play drums, no one taught me how to play guitar, so everything I do, I just kinda do it the way I think it should be done." -- Dave Grohl
