RIP Blue Nile
I got a call from my younger son, Christian, earlier today to let me know that the Blue Nile in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is closing this Sunday (October 19, 2014). From 2006 through 2013, I suppose I performed there probably more than any other venue...not that I've ever played many live shows ever, but you know...the Blue Nile always seemed like they were willing to set up a show if I asked for one and I enjoyed playing there. The last show I ever did happened to be there, in fact. And there's more than a good chance that that gig was the last time I'll ever play live. There aren't many venues for rock bands to perform in around here anymore. Hell, there aren't many rock bands around here anymore. Maybe no one gives a damn. Still, I'm sad at its passing.
Anyway, in honor of the fun I had performing there, I've posted a few live tracks on the audio page of songs BOK played during our various stints at the Nile. Over the next week, I will upload a few more. Thanks, Mark and everyone else who made our shows possible.
All of the live tracks that I post, by the way, will be freshly remastered and I'm pretty sure will sound better than they ever sounded in the past.
