Pop Song #9 (Finished)

I was able to sneak in about an hour and a half of recording time on and off today in between babysitting and so on and was able to finish song number nine (which I think I actually am now going to call "Pop Song #9"). It's very simple in some respects and quite complex in others. I'm pleased with it. I hadn't really written a pure pop song yet during these sessions and it was nice to get one down on tape. It even has bells and a '60s style organ on it! Keyboards are figuring much more prominently in most of these songs than has been the case in years.

Incredibly enough, we are supposed to have yet another snow storm Monday...this one scheduled to dump 6"-12" on us. I don't know how much time I'll have to record next week, but then again that's been a common theme most of the time I've been working on this album, eh? Well, I'll keep plugging. It's always difficult after a couple of days away to get back into the writing and recording state of mind, but once I do I find myself so focused on the next song that I can barely pay attention to anything else. Just the way it is.
