Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

Outsiders & Other Stuff

Played golf today. (I wonder...do you all give a rat's ass about what I do when I'm not making music-related stuff? There seem to be a lot of people reading these blogs every time I put one up...) If you're wondering how I did...surprisingly well. Or I should say I was crushing my drives. Everything else was so-so. I was happy. Driving is my specialty. It's sort of what I'm in my group for.

I haven't had any time to work on the second single, what with a Little League tournament ("my" team won the tournament by going undefeated), chores, golf, etc. Tomorrow, I hope to finish the thing and begin work on the third single. I'm thinking something different for that one. Oh...I did finish mastering the five songs for the second single, by the way.

I saw three former students of mine over the weekend. All three of them asked me if I was "still playing". I said that I wasn't and that it was kind of hard to find anyone to play Book of Kills music anymore at this stage in my life. Too bad. But that's the breaks.

"It is ironic that the United States should have been founded by intellectuals, for throughout most of our political history, the intellectual has been for the most part either an outsider, a servant or a scapegoat." -- Richard Hofstadter
