Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

Next Week and Beyond

An operation to repair a torn retina went swimmingly well. Now I can (apparently) look forward (no pun intended) to a torn retina in the other eye within the next two years and beyond that, some more serious eye problems, but that's then; this is now.

I might start practicing with George III and Garfield next week, but there's a good chance I'll wait another week. They're working on some of the old stuff that I always seem to end up doing (not that I mind) like "Lost', "Little Metal Toys", "River of Blood", and so on. Eventually we'll work some new material into the song list. I don't intend for this band to be an oldies but goodies thing. I want the material to span the entire history of my music "career".

I'll begin the process of uploading new material to CDBaby next Tuesday as well. FILLING IN HOLES, the last "album" I uploaded a couple weeks ago, is apparently quite popular...in a relative way, of course. Nothing I do is really "quite popular". I am probably close to being the ultimate musical outsider.

"To be modern is to find ourselves in an environment that promises us adventure, power, joy, growth, transformation of ourselves and the world--and at the same time that threatens to destroy everything we have, everything we know, everything we are." -- Marshall Berman
