Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

Next Upload Probably Decided...

For some reason, I decided to forgo making the next upload a live album or HUMAN AGAIN and instead spent the morning re-mixing the four songs on I ROAM THE WORLD BETWEEN (which was December 2015's Single of the Month #5), "Filling in Holes" and "Humanoid Strange" (#6), and "One Last Promise to Keep" and "Don't Give Your Heart Away" (#9). I stripped away some of the EQ and compression from the original releases, reworked the mixes and had myself what amounts to one of Book of Kills' best E.P.'s ever! I'm going to upload those eight songs to iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc. etc. They should become available over the course of the next couple weeks on all music outlets around the world.

Those of you who supported BOK by subscribing to the Single of the Month Series will receive a brand new compact disc E.P. of those eight tracks with a new insert. Look for that (FREE!) album in your mail towards the middle of November! Thank you for supporting BOK music. I'd like to somehow make the HQ versions of each track available to you as well. Perhaps I can include them on the CD? I'm not sure. They would be super high quality AIFF's or WAVs which would not play on a regular CD player. (Maybe not. Perhaps no one even cares about getting those sorts of sound files. That's probably a snobby musician type thing, eh?) We'll see. If you were a subscriber, you can still look forward to at least one more release in some form or another around the end of the year.

Regardless, the eight song disc makes for a surprisingly cohesive album. It certainly ranks up there (or near) IF I SHOULD FALL, though it's an entirely different beast.

Tom Petty was born on this day in 1950. I'm glad.

"Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There's not some trick involved with it. It's pure and it's real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things." -- Tom Petty
