Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

More Archive Stuff

I drove out to Gary Bugg's house this morning to pick up a very big collection of Book of Kills memorabilia, including quite a bit of stuff that I hadn't seen in years. As I've noted before, I'm not very good at taking care of mementos so it has been quite helpful to be able to access the collection (and an extremely well-preserved one) of BOK items ranging from newspapers to CDs to posters & fliers to cassettes. Gary even had a mint condition BOK 7", something I haven't seen in years, since I long ago lost whatever original sleeves I might have had.

I've been going through the last box of material I have and found dozens of additional lyric sheets (this is in addition to the two piles I'd accumulated before), some of which contained the first few songs I ever wrote! Even the original paper that I wrote the lyrics to "Heart of Gold" on was in there! The old printer paper that I typed out "Abandoned" on (with added arrangement notes) was also in the pile.

I'm afraid that I'm not going to get much in the way of video unfortunately. If YOU have some BOK footage, PLEASE try to convert it and send it to me or let me borrow the tape and I'll convert it myself. Although I don't intend to include a whole lot of video in the archives, it would be super awesome to get hold of some video I hadn't seen before.
