George Harrison & Other Topics of Note

It is certainly worth noting that on this day way back in 1958 George Harrison joined the Quarrymen.

Also on this day in 1998 one of my favorite singers ever, Carl Wilson died of brain and lung cancer.

Bob Marley would have turned 71 today. Do the math.

No news on the next single. I expect I will start work on it this coming Monday.

I'm also in the early stages of work on the Portable BOK Archive. I've photographed around 45-50 different posters/fliers thus far, a few that I had completely forgotten ever existed.

"It's fun to use a capo 'cause you can get the strings to really have a bell-like sound. It's a thing I got into when I was writing songs. When I started to really write a lot, I would use the capo to try different keys and different combinations." -- Carl Wilson

(Yes, it is, Carl. Yes it is. One of the bigger revelations of my musical life was finding out that the Beatles frequently used capos to create rather exotic sounding chords out of actually rather mundane ones.)
