Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

First Practice

George, Jane, Pablo and I had a good first practice. We missed Casey sorely, but he'll be at the next one, I'm sure, and we'll probably move pretty quickly towards getting 9-10 songs under our belt. Pablo proved to be a fine drummer and, very importantly, he demonstrated a great imagination. It was loads of fun to play with Jane again. It has been ten years, but somehow all that time seemed to fall away and it was as if we'd hardly missed a beat. Now, truthfully, the performances were pretty sloppy, but hell it was the first time we'd all played together. I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, but Pablo and I had to go. I appreciate the interest from various folks. Again, I'm not sure exactly what, if anything, we'll do with this line-up after Bugg's Bash in August. George, Jane and I discussed playing a show or two in Staunton and there is, of course, the 4th Blow Up The Moon festival in late August or early September. There are too many variables to think that far ahead. I've made it clear, however, that I'd like to continue the group into the future, if only on a limited part-time basis, though I'm not sure that's really possible.

By the way, several of you have asked how you could see our little "show" at Bugg's Bash. Evidently it's open to anyone who wants to attend. I will be putting up a link pertaining to the show and all the bands that will play that day before too long.
