BOK Singles Club Starts Wednesday, August 5!

The Singles Club will be open for subscriptions Wednesday, August 5! More details then, though you can check previous recent posts for most of what you need to know already. I'll be working on some new material this week.

2010's THE STRANGE ONE, which featured 27 previously unreleased recordings, will be available on most online music stores in the next few days. I'm just waiting on CDBaby to finalize everything so I can sign off on it.

“If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society.” -- Piaget

This is a relatively important day in rock and roll. On this day in 1963, The Beatles played their last-ever show at the legendary Caverns Club in Liverpool. They were paid the modern equivalent of $900 for the gig. Also on this day in '63, Brian Wilson wrote his first ever song, "Surfer Girl", a particularly resonant track for me. That song was also the first one Brian ever produced. On this day in 1971, Paul McCartney announced the formation of Wings. Lastly, the great, and criminally under-appreciated, Arthur Lee died on this day in 2006. I will be eternally grateful that I got to see Arthur Lee and his latter-day incarnation of Love with a string section perform FOREVER CHANGES (one of the twenty greatest rock records every) in its entirety. Other stuff happened, too.
