Back From Bermuda

I'm back! I've been out of town. In fact, I've been out of the country.

Over the course of the next week, I hope I can gradually re-immerse myself in music. I'm at least a month behind in uploading an album to CDBaby. I'm not even sure what the status of my potential foray into live music is. We'll see. I'm really really really hoping that I can get the upload completed no later than Thursday.

I also need to be focusing on creating a couple of new tracks. That's a process that takes a while. I've never been one who just said, "I think I'll write and record a new song today." I have to gradually slide back into the mindset necessary for me to generate the mental energy I need to create music. Often that takes days, sometimes weeks.

"Songs really are like a form of time travel because they really have moved forward in a bubble. Everyone who's connected with it, the studio's gone, the musicians are gone, and the only thing that's left is this recording which was only about a three-minute period maybe 70 years ago." -- Tom Waits
