Another Band Coming Soon...

Last evening, after my wife and I went out for dinner and drinks, I texted George Nipe III to see if he was home and fortunately he was. I'd been carrying the P.A. and my Fender guitar amp around in the back seat of the car for a week or more and wanted to drop it off at George's (who now lives in my childhood home) and, of course, did. We are going to attempt to put a band together again, though we'll have to wait and see whether or not something will come out of our efforts.

The basement of George's house has really excellent sound so it's a good band space for sure. I'm going to make a CD of a few songs I want to play for George and drummer Garfield Banks. Garfield, you might recall, played drums for George's band, The Plague Dogs. You also might remember that I played bass for George for a short period before he and Mike Hicks went on to form a late-era version of BOK. I don't know if we'll do anything this coming week, but the week after anything will be out of the question. So nothing might happen of note till November. In the meantime I have to pick out those songs...

It bears nothing that the inimitable Johnny Ramone was born on this day in 1948. He died of prostate cancer in 2004. Can it be possible that Johnny's been gone for over 12 years?
