A Song For The New Album

While I'm not intent on providing daily updates on the recording of a new BOK album, I will semi-regularly let you know how it's coming along. I thought today would be a good day to do just that since I wrote and just finished recording the first song on the album. As you know if you've been following these blogs, I've written and recorded several songs over the past few weeks, but came up with nothing that I felt right for the album. As you also might remember, I'm going to do the whole thing on my Tascam Portastudio 488 MK II, subsequently transferring each song via the input on an old HP PC (let me be clear...I HATE Windows machines and use Macs for just about everything, but I have a couple of vintage music software programs that I love on the HP that I can't get for Apple products...) I used to do the same thing with every release since THIS IS YOUR BOOK OF KILLS in 2008. The new song, tentatively titled "Not Too Lost", ended up being pretty lo-fi with lots of distortion and other sound problems...just the way I like it. I imagine when I finish the album some time in 2014 it will appeal pretty widely to at least six or seven people.
