Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

A 25th Anniversary Edition?

It's very difficult for me to believe, but September of this year will mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the release of the first Book Of Kills album, BLOOM OR DIE?. I'd like to say that I'm planning some sort of deluxe CD release, but I haven't really thought much about it. I suppose I could do some sort of release, but because I no longer have access to a Tascam four track recorder, there's no way I can search for outtakes anymore and, to be honest, I don't know that there'd be all that much unreleased stuff anyway. But, I've surprised myself over and over again in the last ten years or so with the amount of material I've come across that I didn't even remember existed. I can't discount the fact that there might be some two track recordings (I still own a cassette deck) lying around somewhere. I do remember that I made acoustic demos of some of the songs (something I've done for just about every album I've ever created) but I don't know where those recordings would be now. I'll look into it over the next few days. One thing I suppose I could do is locate the remaining second-generation two track tape (the original master tape was lost...long story, which I won't repeat here, that some of you know) from which the album was mastered and do a new mastering job. And I could write some new notes. Don't know if that would merit a 25th anniversary re-release. Again, I'll have to think about it and see what I can discover.

Yes...I deleted four tracks from the audio page today. Again, please be aware that songs on this page will come and go without warning!
