Jim Shelley & Book Of Kills

I'm not kidding when I tell you that the work being done on our house (now stretching into its EIGHTH month) makes it virtually impossible to record during the day. I have had to record whenever I get a few moments of silence and then only if I'm not busy taking care of other matters. Anyway. Two tracks are done and the third is about 3/4s complete. I have some babysitting to do all morning and then work this afternoon and most of tomorrow. However, I'm hoping that I'll still get the single in the mail by tomorrow or Saturday, if I can just find an hour or two to finish off the vocals and second guitar. I had to make a couple of minor changes to the inserts but that's done now and I'll be printing them later today.

No Karl Rove practice next week.

It should be noted in passing that RCA Records introduced the 7 inch 45 rpm record on this day in 1949. You young whippersnappers have no idea how significant that event would prove to be in the lives of millions of teenagers in the '50s and '60s.
