#10 Nearing Completion

I think I'm going to be able to finish the tenth song tomorrow. I should have a lot of time to work on it. I've already got drums, bass, a couple rhythm guitars and a surf guitar type riff recorded. I've got about 1/2 the words written, but I think they'll come pretty quickly tomorrow. It really is odd for me to work at such a slow pace. In the past, as you know, I almost always recorded in the summer (being off from mid-June to early August, if I wasn't teaching summer school, because I was a...umm...teacher) and I would often have long stretches of precious time to focus exclusively on music. And when I got into a groove, I could write and record anywhere from one to three songs a day. Now I'm more on a slow burn sort of thing where I get about one song done a week.

George, Casey, Jane, Pablo and I are going to convene again after a long hiatus this coming Sunday. I am pretty certain we are largely going to work on adding some new material. I've got a tentative live date set for some time in the spring at The Little Grill in Harrisonburg, Virginia. More on that later. Casey mentioned earlier this week about playing several gigs. We'll talk about it come Sunday.
